How To Know The Path You Should Be On

Isaiah 60:1 (NIV)

“Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord rises upon you.”

What a great promise Isaiah spoke to the Israelites of long ago. This truth still holds true for us today.

The light has come to you and me and He illuminates our path. He guides us along the journey of life. The question is are you being guided? Are you allowing yourself to be directed by His leading? As followers of Christ, we don’t have to live in the dark. We don’t have to live confused. We have a light in the darkness and an answer in the confusion.

God has given us His Word and His Spirit to guide our lives.

So how do we allow ourselves to guided? Here’s a thought:

Know His Word To Know Your Path

The more we get into the Word of God the more it gets into us. His Word gives us the promises we can hold onto. It gives us the way into how we should live and act.

Psalm 119:105 (NIV)

Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.

When we know God’s word, it gives us guidance on how to navigate life. We take our cues from Jesus’ life and the way in which He called us to. How should we treat those who hurt us? We love them. How do we act as a leader? We serve those around us. How do we build great relationships with others? We live by the golden rule (treat others the way you want to be treated). How do we create greater wealth? Give and it will be given to you. The list could go on and on. We have the answers to how we should live. And when we live out of that wisdom and guidance it opens the door for everything we need in life.

When we know how Jesus called us to live we can create the life we’ve always wanted. To get the most out of life, we have to get the most out of His Word. The more you seek God the more you will know fulfillment.
