God Provision Seems Wrong…

God is a provider for those in need of provision. He has our need and He is our need! Provide means to be proactive about taking action to get what we need. The Bible calls God…Jehovah Jireh or translated “My Provider.” He is not just a provider He is YOUR provider…or as you should say, “MY provider!” This means that He is more than a provider for others needs, He is a provider for your needs! This is important because most people have more faith for other people than they do for themselves. They are quick to believe great things for others but slow to believe great things for themselves. Understand you must internalize that God is your provider, He is just as much a provider for you as He was for Abraham, Noah, and David!

So let’s review the scripture from my first blog post about God’s provision from yesteday

1 Chronicles 12:1-2

12 These were the men who came to David at Ziklag, while he was banished from the presence of Saul son of Kish (they were among the warriors who helped him in battle; 2 they were armed with bows and were able to shoot arrows or to sling stones right-handed or left-handed; they were relatives of Saul from the tribe of Benjamin):

David was on the run from Saul (who wanted to kill him). God was at work behind the scenes and brought David exactly what he needed at just the right time. Notice that the relatives of Saul were the ones who God brought to David. Can you imagine David seeing Saul’s relatives coming towards him? He probably thought they were the enemy! This is a picture that shows how God works…He takes the very things that appear to be bad and turns them to good!

Romans 8:28

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

The relatives of Saul were probably the last thing David wanted to see. I am sure there has been times when you thought “God this is what I need” and you didn’t get what you thought was right. It seems as if God is not letting you have what you really need. I am sure David felt this way when he saw the tribe coming at him. But God has a supernatural way of taking all things and turning them into something good. It may not feel good at the time, it may not be what we wanted, and it may seem complete opposite of what we would define as good. But God knows that all things work together for the good at some point, in someway, somehow!

Joseph knew this supernatural promise from God when his brother finally approached him after they had ruined his life.

Genesis 50:20

You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done…

Do not fear when things seem to be going crazy in your life…keep the faith! God can take the worst situations and turn them into the greatest blessings! Not only did God provide warriors for David, but they were ambidextrous warriors! They were able to fight with both hands. This is a picture of God’s double blessing that He provides us with. Not just warriors with a strong arm, but warriors that were able to use both hands to shoot arrows and fling stones! God did not only meet David’s need but He surpassed his needs! God provision comes all around us on both sides and covers us when it is time!

Be encouraged as you read this that God can and will meet your needs in His way! He will not only take care of you, He will give you double strength when you need it! Trust in the might of your provider…Jehovah Jireh!
