Soar Above Yourself…

Isaiah 40:28-31

28 Do you not know?
Have you not heard?
The Lord is the everlasting God,
the Creator of the ends of the earth.
He will not grow tired or weary,
and his understanding no one can fathom.
29 He gives strength to the weary
and increases the power of the weak.
30 Even youths grow tired and weary,
and young men stumble and fall;
31 but those who hope in the Lord
will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like Eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

You and I were created to be like Eagles.  Eagles are a sign of strength.  They are the American symbol because of their characteristics.  Eagles fly high above the storms and are able to withstand the winds that oppose their direction.  No wonder Isaiah said God will mount us up on Eagle’s wings.  He is giving us a picture of the life God has called us to.  A life that soars against the storms.

If you have ever flown in an airplane you will notice that as you ascend up into the sky there comes a point when you soar past the smog, fog, and clouds.  It may be a gloomy day outside but when you soar just beyond that point you reach clear, sunny, blue skies.  It is a beautiful sight.  I always love sitting next to the window and stare outside as this break through takes place.

Life sometimes is foggy, smoggy, and clouded.  Circumstances and “things” just happen out of our control at times.  But we always have a choice to soar above those things and live in freedom like the Eagle.  Chickens waller around in the mud, but Eagles soar above.  If you and I are going to ascend into our destiny and live the life we were created to live we have to soar above our limiting beliefs.  If you don’t believe in yourself you will never soar higher than you are now.

Most people believe God can do anything, they just don’t believe God can do anything through them.  They know God is the God of the impossible, but they don’t believe the impossible is possible for their situation.  Our limting beliefs on ourself will weigh us down into the mud.  They will lie to us, deceive us, and limit us.  They will be the lid that will trap us in our own prison of life.  However, when we break through the smog, fog, and cloudiness of our limiting beliefs we will soar higher and higher into our destiny.  Don’t let the SMOG, FOG, and CLOUDINESS of life keep you from soaring.  You were created to soar like the Eagle! God promised us we would soar on Eagle’s wings when we trust in Him.

Earl Nightingale once compared worry to a fog that can keep us from seeing things as they reallya are.  He said, “A dense fog covering seven city blocks, to a depth of 100 feet, is composed of something less than one glass of water.” You see, the fog of life is not really something that will keep us from our destiny, if don’t allow it to.  The reality is fear and worry exaggerate themselves to the point that we feel overcome by it.  It is nothing for God to melt mountains that are before us and yet we fear the intangible “fog” that clouds our belief.  We can feel overwhelmed by life or live a life of overcoming.  Know that life is about soaring and soaring is about overcoming.  You are an overcomer and an Eagle.  Get ready for lift off! Soar above yourself and your limiting beliefs.

CHALLENGE:

1. What area(s) in your life are your limiting beliefs causing you to shrink back?

2. If there were no limits what would you do with your life (or situation)?

3. What are 2-3 things you can do TODAY to soar one step higher than you are?
