More or Less?

What you thank God for is what He tends to give you more of.  Too whom much is given, much is required.  At the heart of that statement is a heart of thanks for what God has given.  Too many times we are wasting our time thinking about what we don’t have rather than what we do have.  To spend our life thinking about what we don’t have is to waste what we do have.  We are to be faithful with what God has given us, not frustrated with what God has not given us, yet.  How many times do we miss the great things God has done for us and is doing for us because we are so busy complaining about what He hasn’t given us? God is not moved by frustration, He is moved by faith.  Complaining and whining do not get you very far, especially when it comes to the dreams God has given you.

Life is about being thankful for what we can do with what we have.  You do not need everything to take the next step in your destiny, you already have what you need.  It is within you.  The Kingdom of God is within.  Stop waiting for something to push you further, start to push yourself further.  God has already given us the things we need for our next step.  When we are faithful with that next step He will give us what we need for the next.  Too many times we wait for EVERYTHING to be downloaded to us before we step out, but no one gets very far if all they are doing is waiting.  There is a time to wait, but God is a God of GO, 2/3rds of His name is GO.  Step out in faith and believe God for the impossible.  What is it that you are waiting for? What is it that you keep saying if you just had this…or that…or if you could just get that…of if someone would just give me…STOP!!! Quit making excuses that you don’t have enough and start to be thankful for what you do have.  What you honor God with is what He gives you more of.  If you are faithful to honor God with your money, He will pour out more.  If you are faithful to honor God with your gift/talent, He will give you more.  If you are faithful to honor God with your time, He will give you more of it.  God gives more to those that pour out what He has already given them.  If you are wasting your life by not doing anything with it, why would you expect to get more of what you want out of life? When we are faithful with the everyday things God puts in front of us, He will give us more of it.

You may want more opportunity.  Then what are you doing with the opportunity He has given you? Are you half-hearted about it since it isn’t exactly what you dreamed of? Do you desire to speak in front of thousands, yet only give it half your energy when you are speaking to 10? Do you desire to be financially secure and in a place of freedom, but continue to blow your money on wasteful things? Do you desire to have a great marriage, yet always come home tired and uninterested? Or worse yet blame your spouse for your troubles?

Make the most of what you have and it will grow to be more.  Think of every opportunity as a seed.  Only if you water that seed and are faithful to take care of it will it one day grow into a mighty tree.  What are the 2-3 things you need to start being thankful for and using what God has given you?

Luke 16:10

“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.

Matthew 25:23

“His master replied, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’

  1. It’s always important to be grateful for what you have! You’re right! Our society is constantly feeling sorry for what they don’t have rather than being thankful for what they do.
