Change of Perspective = Change of Possibilities

How you view circumstances will determine what you do with them. You can either breakdown or breakthrough, it’s your choice.

We must remember that circumstances aren’t happening to us; they are happening for us. When you change your perspective you change your possibilities. One wrong view can change the whole course of what you do. Just the other day we ordered a new crib for our new little guy coming soon. When it got here it was the wrong one and had some dents and dings in it. Thinking we had to figure out the whole process of returning it and shipping it back we called customer service and guess what…they refunded the money, sent the new one, and told us to keep the old one. Now, we have the new crib we wanted, no hassle returning process, and a brand new crib with a few dings to give away to someone who may need it. What was a small frustration turned out to be a great opportunity.

We need to stop labeling things and good or bad when they immediately happen. Quick judgment can cause missed possibilities. Rather, we need to have the view that the Apostle Paul told us about.

Romans 8:28 (NIV)

And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.

The Greek word for GOOD here is  AGATHOS. Here’s the biblical definition:

  1. of good constitution or nature
  2. useful, salutary
  3. good, pleasant, agreeable, joyful, happy
  4. excellent, distinguished
  5. upright, honorable

God is working behind the scenes making all things good. He is the master conductor leading it all. We can trust in His plans and His working. Instead of labeling things as bad, how about we start labeling them as AGATHOS…God’s version of good. I heard a statement years ago that said, “Every day isn’t always good, but there is always something good in every day.” That is a Romans 8:28 quote.

We have to understand that God is at work behind the scenes even when we don’t see it. What looks like a SETBACK can be a SETUP. Whatever you are facing right now change your perspective and you’ll change your possibilities. The more we view life through the lens of faith, the greater opportunities we will see in front of us.
