Where Should You Spend Your Time?

Your schedule will dictate the quality and success of your life. How you use your time will determine how your life will be used. The key is to get innovative concerning your schedule. Most people let their schedule dictate what they can and can’t do, but not highly successful people. In fact, successful people decide what they want or don’t want to do, then plan accordingly. If I could sit down with you for a few days, I would be able to tell where your life is heading all based on how you use your time and how you plan your schedule.

How You Use Your Time…

The use of your time is the first step. You cannot get ahead in life if you do not use your time properly. The reason why most people don’t use their time wisely is because they have not identified how to use it. They aren’t really sure what they need to be working on. After all, the demands of family, work, hobbies, meetings, meals, events, volunteering, etc… become overwhelming at times. This is why you have to decide what gets cut and what gets kept. The myth you can do it all, is just that…a myth. There is no such thing as a time superhero, you can’t do everything, so you must decide what the best things are that need to be done. Use your time only doing the things that make the biggest impact, meaning they give you the greatest return. I would say the average person should probably cut %30-%40 of what they are doing and do something better with that time. So the first step is to sit down and make a list of the top 3-5 things you want to be doing that will give you the greatest return. For example in my life it’s this…

1. Communicating

2. Creating

3. Coaching

If I am not doing one of these 3 things somehow, someway, I am not using my time properly. What are your top 3-5 things? You must create this list in order to know what the next step is from there. Once you identify your TOP TIME list you should then plan everything around that.
