If You Have A Need Sow A Seed

We all have needs in life; things that are necessary for us to achieve our dreams. These are more than wants, they are truly something we must have. The great news is that God knows our every need. He is attentive and ready to move on our behalf. The challenging news is that it comes with a price. Salvation is free, but resources for our destiny is not. What I mean by this is that God’s provision is conditional upon our responsibility to sow and reap. If you want a great harvest you MUST sow a great seed. And if you have a need you must sow a seed. The more seeds you sow the more harvest you can reap.

Here is an exert from my book FAITHOLOGY

Galatians 6:7

Whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.

Let’s break this scripture down:

Whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.

A Man

This indicates that we are the ones that sow. It is not God’s job to plant. It is our responsibility to be intentional about the sowing. We have a part to play on this earth. We are partners with God, not robots. He invited us into His story throughout all HIStory. We are not worthless bumps on a log. We are God’s handcrafted masterpieces that have a calling to perform. To say, “If God wants it done, He will just do it” can easily become an excuse for spiritual laziness. Our effort is significant in the eyes of God. He is looking for a good and faithful servant to tell, “Well done.” Never forget that we were created with a role to fulfill in life, and it is our honor to see ourselves as valuable in the eyes of God. We are called to sow what He has given us.

Whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.

Sows

To sow means we have to take our seed and do something with it. You cannot sow air. It must be real. Talking about something is not necessarily sowing. We have to take what God has given us and get dirty planting it into fertile soil. Too many people want the harvest without investing seed into the ground. In order to sow, you must be willing to sacrifice your seed. This means it takes money to make money, it takes love to get love, it takes great thoughts to get a great attitude. The harvest does not sprout unless we let go of our seed. As my mentor John Maxwell taught me, “You have to give up in order to go up.” Only when you are willing to take your seed and sow it will you experience the harvest. Never be afraid to let go of what you do have so God can give you what you don’t have.

If you have a need…sow a seed.
