I Don’t Feel Like Thinking Good Thoughts…

Some days when we wake up we just don’t feel good. Sometimes situations occur in our life that just make us upset.  So the question is how do we deal with ourselves when this happens? Here are some thoughts about how to handle ourselves in those times:

Here is a snippet from my new book FAITHOLOGY: 12 Ideas To Rock Your Faith

Think Good Thoughts Even When You Don’t FEEL Like It

Do not let circumstances determine the way you think, but let the way you think determine your circumstances. You can either throw your arms up in the air when things do not go your way or you can speak life while you focus on the good. You can choose to get bitter, or choose to get better. No matter what is happening around you, do not let it keep you from thinking Godly thoughts. Always keep your thoughts pointed true north in your faith, even when your feelings may not line up. I know this may sound strange, but it is an essential part of training your brain to think the way you want it to and not the way it may be conditioned. Helen Keller said, “Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see a shadow.” Every day, your mind is a battlefield where spiritual warfare takes place. If we give up and surrender to the fight, we become a victim to our worst thoughts. We must remain steadfast with our thinking and be on guard at all times. If we continue to think faith-filled thoughts despite our feelings, the day will come when we will feel like it. We have to develop faith-filled habits day by day. Do not be led by your feelings, but lead your feelings by being faithful to God. Do not conform to your negative thoughts, but remain focused on how God wants you to think. Take control of your thoughts, and do not let your thoughts take control of you. When you transform your thinking, you will transform your future. Faith increases when we focus on God’s promises; not on life’s problems.

Romans 12:2

Do not  conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will isHis good, pleasing and perfect will.

Let your life soar to the place God wants you to go by being focused on the direction you need to go.
