Winning the Game of Life: 5 Biblical Rules Every Christian Must Know – Part 3

We’ve been talking about life as a card game—and if you’ve been following along, you know we’ve already covered some pretty key rules.

Read Part 1 – Rules 1 & 2

Read Part 2 – Rule 3

But here’s the next part of the game that could change everything:

Rule #4 – The Game Must Be Played With Two or More.

God never intended you to play solitaire.

You were made for community. You were made for connection. Ecclesiastes 4 says it perfectly: “Two are better than one… a cord of three strands is not quickly broken.”

Who you surround yourself with matters. The people at your table will either push you forward—or pull you down. Don’t do life alone. Join a small group, get in community, find mentors. Iron sharpens iron, but it can’t happen if you’re isolated.

Don’t wait to be invited—be the inviter. Build the community you need. Find your table.

Rule #5 – In the End, It All Goes Back in the Box.

When it’s all said and done, the game ends. The cards go back in the box. And the only thing that matters is this: Did you give it your best? Did you finish the race well?

Paul said in 2 Timothy 4:7, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” Notice—he didn’t say “I won.” He said I was faithful.

That’s all God is asking of you. Faithfulness.

And here’s the best news—the game is rigged. That’s right. If you belong to Jesus, you already win. He’s already claimed the victory. He’s already secured the prize. So don’t give up now.

Let me leave you with this story…

There was an old missionary couple who returned home after years of serving in Africa. They happened to be on the same ship as President Teddy Roosevelt. While the President was welcomed with bands and fanfare, no one noticed the missionaries. They went home discouraged. But that night, the husband prayed. And God simply whispered back:

“You’re not home yet.”

Friend, you’re not home yet either. But one day, you will be. And when you are, there’s going to be a celebration waiting for you that this world has never seen.

So play the game with all you’ve got. Wake up every day ready to win. Not for applause. Not for fame. But to finish well. Because in the end, it all goes back in the box—and Jesus is waiting with a crown that never fades.
