If you haven’t read Part 1, do so for Rules 1 & 2
Welcome back, friends. Last time we talked about how life is a game and everyone plays—whether you want to or not. And everyone gets dealt a hand, some better than others. But here’s the hope I want to bring today…
Rule #3 – The Game Is Played in Rounds.
That’s right. Life comes in seasons. It moves in circles. What you’re experiencing today is not the final round.
Ecclesiastes 3:1 reminds us that “To everything there is a season, and a time for every purpose under heaven.”
You might feel like you’ve lost a few rounds. But don’t fold yet—another hand is coming.
Think about Jericho. God told the Israelites to march around the city seven times. Can you imagine how they felt on round five? Round six? Nothing happening. But in round seven, a breakthrough.
You might be in round six, and your walls still haven’t fallen. Keep marching. Keep moving. Your round seven is coming.
Or think about Jesus. Three days in the tomb. Three rounds. It looked like the game was over. But on that third day—He rose. Victory was His. And because He won, you win too.
Here’s my encouragement: let go of past failures—and let go of past successes, too. Stop camping in what used to be and start asking God, “What do You have for me now?”
As Coach Lou Holtz said, “If what you did yesterday seems big, you haven’t done anything today.” Don’t get stuck in a former round—get ready for the next one!
